The growing use of interactive listening platforms in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction has introduced innovative ways to enhance learners’ listening comprehension and vocabulary development. Interactive listening tools such as LingQ, TED-Ed, English Central, and other digital platforms provide learners with authentic audio materials, synchronized transcripts, vocabulary support, and personalized learning opportunities. These features enable learners to engage actively with listening content and develop their language skills in a more flexible and learner-centered environment. This review paper examines the role of interactive listening platforms in EFL learning by analyzing recent studies on the use of digital listening tools in language education. The findings indicate that interactive listening platforms contribute positively to listening comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, learner engagement, and motivation. Furthermore, these tools encourage autonomous learning by allowing learners to control the pace of instruction, review content repeatedly, and access immediate support for unfamiliar vocabulary and expressions. However, the literature also identifies several challenges, including technological limitations, differences in learners’ digital literacy, and the need for effective pedagogical guidance to maximize learning outcomes. Overall, the review suggests that interactive listening platforms can serve as valuable resources for EFL learning when integrated thoughtfully into language teaching and learning practices.
